The 2016 Colorado Golden Gloves State Boxing Tournament is scheduled for March 21-26 at the Colorado Golden Gloves Gym, 6161 W. 44th Ave. in Wheatridge. Entry forms will be sent by mail to all registered clubs or can be viewed on either of the Colorado Golden Gloves websites, www.coloradogoldengloves.com or www.coloradogoldengloves.org. Weigh-ins will be held Sunday, March 20, beginning at 10AM. Any/all boxers expecting to compete must be registered with USA Boxing no later than March 12. The 2016 Colorado Golden Gloves Hall-of-Fame induction presentation is scheduled for Saturday, March 26, at the Colorado Golden Gloves Gym, 6161 W. 44th Ave. in Wheatridge, doors opening at 4:30PM with hors d’oeuvres (light finger food) served before the ceremony begins at 5PM. Tickets for the Hall-of-Fame Induction Ceremony and Finals fight seating (March 26) are $25 each and can be reserved by contacting Carmen Beall at 303-594-0123. The 2016 Colorado Golden Gloves Hall-of-Fame inductees are: Donald Giron (Boxer), Jose Santiago (Coach), Ron Maynes (Official) and Tony Mora (Special Services Award). Saturday, February 27, a ‘Team Building Clinic’ for all Colorado LBC Officials will be held with boxer demonstrations, learning of proper techniques for referring and judging, Q & A sessions being part of the clinic. Prior to the Colorado Golden Gloves State Boxing Tournament (March 21-26) there is one amateur event scheduled, that being March 5, where the ‘Douglas County Fight Night’ will be held at Douglas County High School, 2305 Pierce St. in Edgewater, all boxers welcome.
