The CNN Republican Debate 2015 live stream online and televised coverage takes place on Tuesday night as candidates will once again assemble on stage to discuss key issues ahead of the Presidential Election in 2016. Among those who will be featured on the main debate will be leading Republican candidate, Donald Trump, as well as competitors such as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Dr. Ben Carson. Although Trump continues to lead, he has continued receiving plenty of backlash as well, including recent outrage in Las Vegas, the site of tonight’s primary debate. According to a Dec. 14 article via TIME, tonight’s debate will have a clear focus via CNN on foreign policy. This is due to rising fears of terrorism after the recent attacks in Paris, France and San Bernardino, California. Candidates will try to present their best strategies for combating ISIS and helping to alleviate the spreading fears associated with terrorism across the globe. This debate will also spotlight Ted Cruz as other candidates will try to talk down the leader in the Iowa polls right now in order to gain some sort of edge. Trump will very likely focus on attacking both Cruz and Rubio during tonight’s debate.
Tonight’s event will be held at The Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada with CNN and Salem Radio hosting and moderating. Jake Tapper, Hugh Hewitt and Dana Bash return again as moderators. The main debate feature nine candidates with Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Doug Christie, Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina, John Kasich and Rand Paul. Prior to that, four candidates who didn’t qualify in terms of the polling criteria for tonight will have their undercard debate. That will include Mike Huckabee, Lindsey Graham, George Pataki and Rick Santorum. Those four will also focus their attacks on the leading candidates who will take to the main stage later on.
This will mark the fifth debate for the Republicans and second to be telecast live on CNN. For those wondering how candidates were chosen for tonight, the top 10 candidates who led in national polling between July 16 and Sept. 10 and the top 10 who led in national polling between Aug. 7 and Sept. 10 were invited for the main debate. For the secondary debate, candidates needed to have an average of 1 percent or more in three recent polls. For anyone looking at betting odds, Bovada currently lists Hilary Clinton as a -140 favorite to become next President, while Rubio is next at +400, followed by Trump at +650.
