How many times has it happened to you? You apply for a job get an interview or two or even three and then they tell you it’s between you and another candidate. Why you ask and it can be a wide variety of reasons. What have you been told when you asked why? It can be “we don’t feel you fit in with our culture” or another candidate was more qualified. It may even be that you weren’t experienced enough.
Have you been told you were their favorable candidate and then it takes a long time until they call you only to say that you didn’t get the job? In that case they were probably doing background checks and may have found something unfavorable. Do you have skeletons in your closet?
What about you’ve been in your second interview and then you sense that things somehow went south for you. It could be that nervousness or something you’ve done came across like there’s something to hide. Regardless of the situation you need to be prepared as you can be. You need to be confident and sure of yourself if you want that job. So much, as much as 90 percent of the communication isn’t verbal. Don’t let your body movements or language, facial expressions or vacant gaze take the job from you in the midnight hour. Be strong.
