Pop star and socialite Ciara teamed up with the Candy Crush empire to celebrate the launch of Candy Crush Jelly Saga at Primary Wave’s 10th Anniversary Celebration and Pre-Grammy party at the London West Hollywood last night. The one-of-a-kind event featured a multi-sensory “jelly” dance floor, essentially creating a life-size Candy Crush Jelly Saga game board. The newest addition to the Candy Crush empire allows players to battle the Jelly Queen as they explore over 100 mesmerizing levels and colorful game modes. Ciara discussed the thrilling event and tonight’s Grammy Awards in an exclusive interview with byteclay.com.
byteclay.com: What kind of moves did you bring to the “jelly” dance floor?
CIARA: I introduced these really cool dancers that came out and shaked their jelly on the dance floor… What was really cool was a super huge LED dance floor, where you get to crush the candy on the dance floor. You can see the jelly mode and how all the pieces move around while you’re moving around on the dance floor simultaneously, so it’s a very cool interactive moment of crushing the candy and jelly mode…super cool.
E: What makes Candy Crush Jelly Saga so exciting?
C: It’s really, really cool. I was actually playing it earlier today when I was in glam getting ready and it’s a really fun game you can play at any time in the day, which is cool. Even when I’m in the airport or moving in my travels. It’s really fun. (In British accent) I haven’t had the chance to meet the Jelly Queen… But I’m looking forward to meeting her… I just have to keep stepping my game up and getting better at this thing. But I guess that is when you go into Boss Mode and you get to meet the Jelly Queen. (In British Accent) I’m looking forward to meeting her and having a stand-off.
E: What is your pick for the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album?
C: I’m going to be honest, I never really like to say who is going to have the biggest year. It’s been really fun in music and there has been a lot of new talent that’s been emerging. I think it’s going to a really cool year of freshness and unexpectedness – you don’t really know who is going to do what, which is really cool. I’m really looking forward to seeing Adele, she’s pretty awesome. Kendrick Lamar has had an outstanding year, he’s been nominated so many times so I hope he walks away with a Grammy too. But I’m just wishing everyone success during this time.
E: What are you currently working on?
C: There is a lot more touring to do. I’ve also recently partnered with KEDS and I’m super excited about that partnership and we’re creating some really cool things. And there are some other cool things in store, and when the timing is right I’ll be able to share more with my fans – but it’s going to a fun and eventful year.
Other celebrities in attendance at the exclusive Pre-Grammy event included CeeLo Green, Melissa Etheridge, Redfoo of LMFAO, Twista, Kenny Lattimore, and Mario Van Peebles. Candy Crush Jelly Saga is available now to download for free from the iTunes Store, Google Play Store and the Windows Store.
