“A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Psalm 91:7, 10-11
Zika virus, Syphilis, Cholera, Smallpox, Influenza, Poliomyelitis, Measles, Mumps, Rubellla, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Anthrax, Botulism, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis, whooping Cough, German Measles, Trichomoniasis, Hepatitis A, B & C, Tetanus, Meningococcal Meningitis, Ebola, Dysentery, Bird Flu. These are some of the infectious diseases that have plagued some people in the United States and abroad recently since 1950.
Then there are some diseases that are not contagious, yet can be just as deadly to those who succumb to ailments such as: Cancer, Asthma, Sickle Cell, Tobacco, Alcohol, Narcotics, Heart or Mental Health issues, Shingles Virus, Diabetes, Lyme disease, Crohn’s disease, Parkinson’s and Lew Garrett diseases – just to mention a few. Some diseases have been eradicated while others still creep up every now and then; yet we overcome most of them by the “blood of the Lamb” and the Word of our testimonies.
While scientists are looking for a cure to the latest disease (Zike Virus), Christians continue to have the reassurance that Jesus Christ has promised His beloved followers the safety from any or all of the conditions listed above. During this time precaution is necessary. Be wise and continue to wash your hands, use hand sanitizer or wet wipes on you and your family (You’ve probably seen too many people leave a public restroom without washing their hands – That’s just Nasty!), and, cough into the fold of your arm instead of your hand. Handkerchiefs are not sanitary – use tissues. Don’t sneeze on others. Use a mask if necessary; and above all Be Wise and don’t be led into fear.
As believers we should have the faith of/in God and #TBR – Trust in His Word, Believe that what He has said – He is able to perform, and Receive the healing touch from His hands and continue to use wisdom. If you don’t – continue to build on your faith.
