Country fans will be hearing Charles Kelley’s “Lonely Girl” coming out of their speakers in the near future. The country artist has chosen the track to be the next single off his debut solo album The Driver.
The song has a funky groove with an influence of soul. The track was written by Chris Stapleton and Jesse Frasure. Kelley admits that while not easy taking on a Stapleton song, he put his own little spin on it, and now it’s his favorite song to play live. We can understand why it would be. It’s a great track with a fun groove.
The Lady Antebellum star will have plenty of opportunities to play the track live, including during the live broadcast of the 51st annual ACM Awards on April 3. You can also catch Kelley live on his upcoming tour beginning April 9 in Washington D.C.
