Sheritta Johnson has filed her papers and is now a contender for the office of Supervisor of Elections in St. Lucie County. Incumbent Gertrude Walker, a long time fixture as Supervisor of Elections in St. Lucie County will be difficult to defeat. Both candidates are Democrats, so if no other party’s candidates file, including further candidates from the Democrats, this race between Walker and Johnson could be taken to the Florida Primary election (pending qualifying for ballot) on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 when the final decision of the winner could come before the general election Tuesday, Nov. 8 — baring no further contenders of other parties and write-ins.
