It’s the weekend so that means it’s time to celebrate with a nice strong drink. If you are looking for something special, try Blue Ice Vodka, a gluten-free version made from potatoes. The brand got its start with a vision from founder “Big Jim” Myerson, who was looking to create his own vodka made from the most popular crops in Idaho where he and his family were from.
That dream turned into a reality when Blue Ice Vodka was formed using the richest potato- growing region in North America where high-altitudes, warm days and cool nights, and light volcanic soil produce high quality potatoes with excellent taste and character.
As for the taste? Think crisp, clean and smooth flavor. The vodka is made with water from the Teton Mountains that gathers in the Snake River Aquifer, where it naturally filters through hundreds of feet of porous volcanic rock before reaching the 200-foot aquifer.
Here’s a cocktail recipe for a simple Vodka Lemon so you may try at home:
2 oz. Blue Ice Vodka
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp sugar
Moisten the rim of a cocktail glass with a little lemon juice and dip in half of the sugar to frost. Mix the vodka and remaining lemon juice with the sugar in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into the cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon slice.
