The Carnival Sensation is the perfect cruise ship for those who do not like large crowds. Though it is a smaller ship, there are still plenty of areas to hide, read a book and enjoy the view from the front of the boat. Without having to fight your way to find a seat or get to the line at the buffet. One of the best things about taking a three-day cruise aboard the Carnival Sensation is definitely the size. Being such a short vacation getaway the smaller ship allowed for plenty of time to see and experience everything on board before returning back to Port Canaveral.
To help ensure you get the most out of your three-day cruise adventure, arrive at the port early. To avoid long lines and to be one of the first to board the ship it is best to arrive around 10 a.m. This gives plenty of time to check your luggage, go through security and be ready when they embarkation beings. Being one of the first on the ship allows you time to find a table on the Lido Deck, grab something to eat form the buffet and kick back and relax while waiting for the rooms to be ready about 2 p.m.
Take advantage of the time being first on the ship and walk around to see the different areas and get a schedule for the first evening. That way you can go over everything and start mapping out your evening schedule. There are a lot of shows, specials and activities planned both before and after the Muster Station Drill. Knowing what you want to do will help reduce the time wasted trying to decide.
One show you must attend is the introduction show with the Cruise Director. During this show he shared with us everything to expect during the cruise and some information about the port of call. Other fun things to do the first day of the cruise is go to the spa for a drawing for services during the cruise. Later in the evening, take a walk around the ship where you will see various tables set up, including one from the gallery, shore excursions and dining teams. Take the time to stop by and chat with the staff. You may learn something new and even be entered to win fun prizes.
Everyone on board was friendly and the staff was always willing to help and interact with cruise goers. The staterooms were clean and the bedding was so comfortable you could find yourself sinking into it after a long day of exploring. One of the best parts of the cruise was enjoying room service. The chocolate cake was decadent and the breakfast delivered to the room every morning was a pleasant wake up call. When cruising, definitely take advantage of room service.
Overall, spending time aboard the Carnival Sensation was a fun and exciting adventure. Everything from the food to entertainment and shopping to the port of call were definitely worth experiencing. If you have not enjoyed a three- or four-day cruise aboard the Carnival Sensation, you must take the time to do so. These short cruise make it possible to enjoy a getaway to a tropical island without the need to take a long vacation or time off of work.
