Presidential hope Hillary Rodham Clinton has a well-known trait that comes out in poll after poll this election 2016. American voters do not trust her. That can be a crippling liability in the general election if she is the Democrat’s nominee. Her latest back-peddling spin on an issue she has flip-flopped on more than once; Obamacare.
On Monday night, the former secretary of state attempted to explain the methods she would invoke to “partially expand” the public’s access to the Affordable Care Act. It should be noted that in 1993, then first lady Hillary Clinton introduced the disastrous government-sponsored healthcare initiative that became known as ‘HillaryCare.’
What is Hillary’s latest government-subsidized healthcare idea? It is nothing less than “partially expanding access to Obamacare for undocumented immigrants.” It would seem far mre logical if socialist candidate and opponent to Hillary, Bernie Sanders, concocted this sort of new expansion of socialized medicine.
But Bernie has made tremendous inroads against Hillary this primary season making it politically expedient she top his wild ideas with some of her own. In Hillary’s own words, she said “There are two steps here, if someone can afford to pay for an insurance policy off the exchanges that were set up under the Affordable Care Act, I support that.” She made her comments at a town hall meeting televised by CNN Monday.
Her comments became more disturbing when she added, “If they can afford it, they should be able to go into the marketplace and buy it.” She declined to address the very notion that a non-American, illegally in this country, could ever have a right to our healthcare system. And aside from that, it’s blatantly obvious that such a dramatic move would break the federally subsidized system after emptying the wallets of American taxpayers funding illegal and poverty-stricken aliens.
Clinton even conceded, “… it is not going to apply to people who are in need of subsidies in order to afford that.” Already 80 percent of Americans on Obamacare are receiving government subsidies to help pay for their coverage. This is not to mention the law states explicitly that “undocumented immigrants” are “prohibited” from using the Obamacare marketplaces at all.
To cover her tracks from the anticipated national uproar, she said the subsidies for illegals will “… have to be worked out in comprehensive immigration reform.” Like most Democratic candidates and incumbents, Hillary is pandering to the Hispanic vote and attempting to go one step further to citizenship for millions of now undocumented aliens on American soil rather than deport them as immigration laws now on the books stipulate.
