Build-A-Bear is one of the most popular toy companies today since it offers children a chance to build and customize their own plush toy. From its humble beginnings in St. Louis in 1997, Build-A-Bear has exploded into a $337 million dollar grossing global brand that kids love and parents trust. Today, Build-A-Bear Workshop has approximately 400 stores worldwide and a float in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Moreover, the company was listed on the FORTUNE 100 “Best Companies to Work For” roster for the eighth year in a row in 2016.
Although Build-A-Bear has been delighting children for decades, they are just starting to branch out into their own original licenses. To that end they have created “The Honey Girls” which is a band of female friends who tour the world performing catchy and original songs. Although “The Honey Girls” began as a trio, their popularity has promoted Build-A-Bear to release two new friends, Misha and Stella, into the popular multimedia line.
Stella is a poodle and Misha is a fox who are now available in Build-A-Bear Workshop stores and online. They will join the original Honey Girls friend Teegan (who is a tiger) on an all-new adventure and story set in Paris. According to the official synopsis of “The Honey Girls in Paris” story:
Teegan, the fearless and bold lead singer of the Honey Girls, heads to Paris with her mom for a business trip. There she meets up with her old friend, Stella, who has an eye for fashion and loves the latest styles. Stella introduces Teegan to Misha, who is a skilled dancer and choreographer. The friends teach each other new skills and talents and learn how to “Be Brighter Together,” and Teegan leaves her trip with new inspiration to bring back to the Honey Girls.
The updated Honey Girls collection features new Parisian-inspired outfits and accessories, as well as new music and videos — including two original songs, “Takin’ on the World” and “Ooh La La,” that reflect the friends’ global travels. These tunes and original Honey Girls songs are available for download at BuildABear.com/honey-girls, on Amazon and iTunes. Fans can also watch music video renditions of the new Honey Girls songs on the Build-A-Bear Workshop YouTube channel.
Moreover, Build-A-Bear Workshop is also expanding the original Honey Girls app into two separate apps: the “Honey Girls Selfie Gallery” app, which lets users play with fun overlays and photo filters; and the “Honey Girls Karaoke Studio” app, where users can sing along with the Honey Girls and make personalized music videos. Fans can download these apps on iTunes or Google Play to virtually interact with the Honey Girls and follow along on their latest adventures.
As is expected from Build-A-Bear, these plush toys are made with high quality fabric and their clothes are expertly detailed. Accessories such as headphones, cute shoes, purses, hair bands and hats add extra flair to the designs and since every model is the same size, the clothes are interchangeable from one character to another. The character’s hair is colorful, shiny and soft and their eyes are stitched with a semi-reflective fabric that truly makes them “pop” and gives them as sense of liveliness. Any little girl will surely admire them on sight and want to collect them all.
Teegan, Misha and Stella are available now in stores and online; optional outfits and accessories are sold separately. The other two original Honey Girls characters, Risa and Viv, are also available for sale. To learn more, visit the Build-A-Bear website.
