On the evening of December 1, 2015, Italian luxury brand, Bruno Magli, presented ‘A Taste Of Italy:’ a celebration of Italian culture to kick off the holiday season. Taking place at New York’s stylish SoHo venue, Chef’s Club, the event was co-hosted by celebrity chef, Scott Conant, and Food & Wine magazine, and featured an exclusive, Italian-inspired menu curated by Chef Conant for the evening’s festivities.
Guests in attendance — some of whom had travelled from as far as Italy — were offered a sneak-peak at a fantastic compilation of vintage footwear from the Bruno Magli archive collection, in advance of its reveal for the brand’s upcoming 80th anniversary. They also enjoyed a first-look at forthcoming styles from the men’s and women’s FW16 collections, marking the return of Bruno Magli women’s collections to the U.S. market.
Top chefs turned out in spades to taste Chef Scott Conant’s creations and check out Bruno Magli’s historic and upcoming styles. Notable chefs includes Food Network’s Chef Aaron Sanchez, New York restaurateur and Food Network fave, Chef Marc Murphy, Pastry extraordinaire, Chef Johnny Iuzzini, and ramen king, Chef Ivan Orkin. But the chefs weren’t the only ones to fawn over footwear, with many other celebs showing up for the fun.
Amongst notable guests, Lucy Liu, a friend to the brand, wore Bruno Magli shoes from the upcoming women’s FW16 collection. The stunning stilettos were custom-made for Lucy, and were hand-carried from Italy exclusively for her to wear at the event.
In addition to Lucy Liu, other notable guests in attendance included Marquee Brands President Michael DeVirgilio, Marquee Brands COO Cory M. Baker, Alan Cumming, Kristen & Josh Taekman, Jill Zarin, Phillip Bloch, Cameron Moir, Jason Ritter, NYCFC soccer player RJ Allen, and AndrewAndrew.
Along with Scott’s delicious menu, guests sipped Ferrari TrentoDOC Brut and Sagrantino wine, accompanied by a selection of BellGioioso gourmet cheeses. Whilst they explored the shoe collection, guests were transported back in time as they stepped into the VespaBooth where an iconic Mario De Biasi black-and-white photograph from 1954 was juxtaposed with a gorgeous modern day Vespa Primavera 150. Guests were invited to take fun pictures whilst listening to a soundtrack featuring the music of renowned acid jazz Italian DJ and music producer, Nicola Conte.
Kicking off the holiday season in true fashion, Food & Wine’s Chefs Club in SoHo, Italian luxury brand Bruno Magli, and celebrity chef Scott Conant, certainly entertained New York notables at “A Taste of Italy,” a celebration of timeless Italian style.
