Oscar winner Brie Larson stunned on the red carpet of Sunday night’s 88th annual Academy Awards. The Best Actress winner for “Room” accepted her first Oscar dressed in royal blue custom Gucci with a stellar half-up, half-down hairstyle designed by Mara Roszak for L’Oréal Paris. To get the look, the celebrity hairstylist outlined the award-winning style as follows.
Mara created award-winning looks for Brie Larson at the Golden Globes, and most recently, the Academy Awards. The L’Oréal Paris stylist took inspiration from Brie Larson’s Oscar gown. According to Roszak, “I wanted her hair to have a celestial but fresh look to complement the dress. We did a modern half-up, half-down style.”
L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Transforming Oil-in-Cream was initially applied to Brie’s damp hair. A center part was created prior to blow-drying with a round brush.
Although the 2016 Oscars were rain-free, a ghd Platinum Styler was used to “touch up the hair and help with any frizz or fly-a-ways, while keeping it healthy and shiny, especially with the humid weather.” L’Oréal Paris Elnett Hairspray was then applied throughout Brie Larson’s hair.
To create Brie’s soft, loose waves, Mara used the one-inch ghd curve Classic Curl Iron, and then brushed Larson’s hair with a boar bristle brush. For extra shine, L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Lustrous Oil Serum was added to the middle and ends of the Oscar winner’s hair.
The pieces nearest the hairline were twisted and secured to the back of the head with pins. Fabric that coordinated with the material of Brie’s belt was strategically placed on top of the pins, with additional hair wrapped throughout the accessory.
To finish Brie Larson’s Academy Awards celebrity hairstyle, L’Oréal Paris Elnett Hairspray was used for hold, followed by Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss High Shine Glossing Mist for added shine. The actress kept her Oscar glow intact during her appearance on “LIVE with Kelly and Michael” the morning after her big win.
