One of the more prestigious schools in the Nashville area is Vanderbilt University and we like writing about some of the school’s former athletes who have turned professional in their sport. A favorite of ours is Brandt Snedeker who was born in Nashville, attended Nashville-area schools, then graduated from Vanderbilt.
Brandt turned professional in 2004. He was named as the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2007, after having shot a ‘course record equaling 61 in the first round of the Buick Invitational’. He is currently with the PGA Tour and has 11 wins under his belt, eight of which were with the PGA Tour.
We’ve often seen mention of his wins in the news and like the fact that Brandt Snedeker is a ‘home-town boy made good’, a former Vanderbilt University athlete we can all be proud of. Brandt is now married (to Mandy, in 2008) and has two children. He travels the world with the PGA Tour, making a name for himself, and honoring his former schools with his many victories.
