The holiday time period is a great chance for people to get together with family and enjoy some well-earned cocktails. This year has brought many things and so it’s time to celebrate the things we have and the people we have in our lives. Booth’s has a gin that you’ll want to give a shot, as it fits perfectly with the following cocktail recipes.
Gin is perhaps one of the most drinkable spirits out there today, especially when you are talking about a gin that doesn’t hit you over the head with its taste and contains nice balance. Booth’s is a gin I think about when it comes to well-balanced gin and is one that fits perfectly with a slew of cocktail recipes.
The recipes we are going to take a look at today are the Trilby, Seventh Heaven and Empire Cocktail. Each of these cocktails will require you to have Booth’s Finest Dry Gin Cask Mellowed as the lead spirit.
Starting off with the Empire Cocktail, this particular recipe is one that isn’t too difficult to conjure up as its steps are fairly simple to follow and its ingredients are easy to acquire. You will need to have on hand Booth’s Gin, calvados, apricot brandy, a shaker, ice, strainer and cocktail glass.
First, make sure you have ice placed into your shaker and then pour in one half parts Booth’s Finest Dry Gin Cask Mellowed, one fourth part calvados and one fourth apricot brandy. Make sure you shake up the contents thoroughly until you feel you have the right consistency and then strain everything into your cocktail glass. This particular blend pours out a refreshing, but more fruity taste than your typical gin cocktail and is one I enjoyed quite a bit.
Next up is the Seventh Heaven cocktail, which again is fairly simple to create, however, it’s crucial to make sure you have the correct measurements for ideal results. In order to create one of these, you’ll need to have on hand Booth’s Finest Dry Gin Cask Mellowed, maraschino, grapefruit juice, a stirrer, cocktail glass and a sprig of green mint.
First, you’ll need to add ice into your cocktail glass, followed by three fourths of a part of Booth’s Finest Dry Gin Cask Mellowed, one fourth of a part of maraschino and a tablespoon of grape fruit juice. The latter ingredient can be a way to shift the cocktail’s taste, should you want a drink that’s filled more with a grape fruit flavor.
Stir up the contents until you are satisfied with the blend, then feel free to garnish the drink with a sprig of green mint on top. Overall, the Seventh Heaven is a delicious and pleasant cocktail, and falls into similar fruity flavors like the Empire Cocktail did.
Last, but certainly not least, we’ll talk about the Trilby cocktail, which much like the previous two drinks, doesn’t require too many steps to create. In order to create a Trilby, you will need to have on hand Booth’s Finest Dry Gin Cask Mellowed, orange bitters, Italian vermouth, ice, a shaker, strainer and cocktail glass.
First, place ice into your shaker and then pour in one half of a part of Booth’s Finest Dry Gin Cask Mellowed, two dashes of orange bitters and one half of a part of Italian vermouth. Shake up the ingredients until you feel everything is of the correct blend, and then strain the liquid into your cocktail glass. There is no need for any garnish with this drink, and it proves to be another fruity cocktail that finishes wonderfully well.
These are just a few of the cocktails that work great with Booth’s Finest Dry Gin Cask Mellowed. Booth’s is a wonderful gin you’ll enjoy even with the most traditional gin recipes like a Gin and Tonic. Enjoy the holidays responsibly.
