The Blues vs. Blackhawks live stream online and televised 2016 NHL Playoffs coverage of Game 6 comes Saturday night from Chicago. The reigning champions were able to stave off elimination in Game 5 with a 4-3 double overtime victory in St. Louis just a few days ago. Now they will return home to the United Center where they lost the previous two games to the Blues, who also have provided them a bit of motivation in the form of a recent quote from defenseman Alex Pietrangelo. The Stanley Cup champs continue their quest for a repeat title, with Andrew Shaw back in the lineup as the 2016 NHL Playoffs live stream and TV coverage comes via NBC Sports Networks.
According to NBC Chicago in their April 23 report, the Blackhawks did an impressive job of smothering St. Louis scoring threat Vladimir Tarasenko in Game 5, as he was “virtually invisible” for the contest. Tarasenko has scored several times in the previous meetings this postseason, but if Chicago wants to force a Game 7, holding him back from being a threat is imperative. It will also be important for Chicago to utilize its newer top line featuring Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane together, as well as the fact that the Blackhawks need to stay disciplined and focused. That means avoiding as many costly penalties as possible if they want to tie this series up.
St. Louis gave the home team a bit of extra incentive to prevent them from winning Saturday night as Alex Pietrangelo was quoted as saying, “It’s going to be fun to win it in Chicago.” The Blues were able to take Games 3 and 4 at the United Center, but expect the home fans to be fired up in Chicago for this one. Several postseasons ago, the Blackhawks found themselves down 2-0 against this Blues team, only to win the next four. This particular playoffs has started differently with the series starting 1-1 and then quickly developing into a 3-1 Blues lead. There’s been no shortage of drama here though, as two games have gone to overtime and no game has seen either team win by more than a goal.
Tonight’s favorites to win according to Vegas Insider are the Chicago Blackhawks, with a consensus moneyline price of -150. As the underdog team, St. Louis is priced at +130. Tonight’s over/under goals total is five goals for the complete game. The Blues are currently 7 to 1 favorites to win the NHL Stanley Cup this postseason, while Chicago is currently listed at 14 to 1 odds on the future odds list. Should the Hawks tie the series to force a Game 7, don’t be surprised if they move right up the future odds list to become tied with St. Louis or higher.
