The Blue Grass Stakes 2016 live stream online and televised horse racing takes place on a busy Saturday in the sport. This particular Derby prep race, which has a stacked field of 14 total horses, will be held as part of a day of coverage in which new favorites to win the Kentucky Derby could emerge. Held at the Keeneland Race Course at Lexington, Kentucky, it also is the closest of the three major prep races to where the bigger Derby goes down in early May. Among the favorites to win this prep race are Zulu and Donegal Moon, but could a longshot possibly capture the victory? The 2016 Blue Grass live streaming odds and TV coverage comes via NBC Sports networks on Saturday night.
According to The Courier-Journal in their April 8 report, longtime odds maker and handicapper Mike Battaglia, is pointing out that Cherry Wine could be a contender to watch in today’s race. It’s noted that each race this horse has run seems to show improvement, and he finished fourth in “fast-closing” fashion in Oaklawn’s Rebel. Battaglia also says favorites Zulu and Donegal Moon should certainly be considered. He indicates that Zulu has finished first at two straight-races and then came in as a runner-up more recently. However, the horse “is definitely the one to beat.” Battaglia adds that Donegal won by 13 lengths in his latest start, making hime a dangerous contender in this Saturday’s event. In 2015, this race was won by Carpe Diem, ridden by John Velazquez and trained by Todd Pletcher.
As of this report, Bovada’s online sports book listed No. 4 post horse Zulu at odds of 5 to 2 to win this race, with No. 2 post Donegal carrying 5 to 1 odds. Brody’s Cause (No. 6) was at 4 to 1, with No. 13 Star Hill and No. 14 My Man Sam both at 10 to 1 odds. Cherry Win is a 12 to 1 favorite and will start in the No. 3 post position, with Laoban, also at 12 to 1 odds, starting at the No. 7 spot. Among today’s biggest long shots are Twizz at 30 to 1 odds and Lookin For A Kiss at 50 to 1 odds. This race includes 14 total horses, although keep in mind there’s always the potential for scratches just before the race begins.
