New video shows Bullseye meeting another dog, tail wagging enthusiastically. He is still at the shelter hidden in the medical wing and still in danger! Bullseye is a young, blind dog urgently in need of rescue or adoption!
His Facebook post says, “Bullseye is still practically a puppy. However he has been moved into the medical wing at Miami Dade Animal Services where he will not be seen, and where he can be killed if the veterinary staff think it’s “medically” advised. He’s a darling guy with a fabulous personality. The shelter labeled him “hyper” which really just means he’s got lots of puppy energy and needs a home where he will be walked or have a yard to run in.”
In spite of his visual handicap, Bullseye loves to explore. Watch his video and see how he loves to roam the yard, sniff the wonderful smells, and runs to someone sitting on a bench for petting. While Bullseye may not be able to see, he more than makes up for it with his sense of smell and his acute hearing. There are aids for dogs who are visually impaired called haloes that work to protect dogs from bumping into things at full speed.
Most importantly, Bullseye is sweet and loving. He will adjust to living in a new situation with some patience and love. Please share his story on social media. His story just needs to be seen by the right person, and his life will be saved. It only takes one special person to see Bullseye’s sweet video and fall in love with him.
If you visit the Miami Dade Animal Shelter, do not be intimidated by the armed guards. Because of the recent unpleasant publicity about the shelter and its perhaps less-than-ethical practices, they claim to have received threats. The armed guards will ask you why you are going to the shelter. Simply say you are looking at adoptable dogs. DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED! The dogs need to be seen.
