Monday’s Blackhawks vs. Blues live stream online and televised 2016 NHL Playoffs Game 7 brings one of the most exciting events in sports under the spotlight. It’s the final deciding game of the series, with the winner advancing to the next round. The defending champions pulled off an impressive win at home this past weekend to stave off elimination and force this seventh game. St. Louis has looked ready to finally get rid of their conference nemesis and continue their own quest for a Stanley Cup trophy. Will St. Louis be able to take care of this powerhouse franchise in their latest meeting? The 2016 NHL live streaming and TV coverage of tonight’s game is through NBC Sports networks.
On April 25, Sports Illustrated reported that the Blues are trying to end their three-year streak of “first-round flops” in the playoffs, while the Blackhawks dynasty is in pursuit of their fourth Stanley Cup in the last seven years. Chicago enters tonight’s game with back-to-back wins to force a decisive matchup at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis. In the series, they’ve gone 2-1 on the road, while falling 1-2 at their own home ice. They would also seem to have major momentum heading into this game, having won Game 6 by a final of 6-3. The Blues looked to be in control after the first period, leading 3-1 but Chicago charged back to score three goals in the second and another two in the third while shutting out St. Louis. Among those scoring in the game were Andrew Shaw and Marian Hossa in the third, but goals from Asimov, van Riemsdyk and Weise in the second made the difference.
Corey Crawford was also able to prevent 25 of 28 shots taken at his goal, while Brian Elliott had to deal with a total of 35 taken by the home team. The Blues will most likely look to regain the edge in terms of shots taken on their home ice. Also, do not be surprised to see Vladimir Tsarenko given more time on the ice. He’s been the star of this series for St. Louis, scoring four goals and six points total on 24 shots taken at the net. However, Troy Brouwer, known as more of a “banger” type player, has been edging him out in terms of time on the ice. For Chicago, Andrew Shaw seems to be one to watch, as he was able to score his third goal in four games after returning from a Game 5 suspension. Will Shaw continue to pester Elliott, or will there even be a Patrick Kane or Jonathan Toews goal? There’s plenty to watch for in this huge game tonight.
The odds for this “winner takes all” matchup on Monday are basically dead even at most sports books. Vegas Insider listed a consensus of -110 for both teams as of earlier on Monday, although the original opening lines saw St. Louis a -125 favorite, and Chicago a +105 underdog. As with the previous games in this series, five goals will be the over/under total to consider. Future odds currently list both of these teams as 8 to 1 favorites to win the Stanley Cup Finals. The Washington Capitals continue to lead all teams with odds of 18 to 5, followed by Pittsburgh at 19 to 5.
