Women are taking Bill Cosby to court, but the tables have turned and now, Bill is counter suing seven of those women, according to TMZ, Dec. 14, 2015. Bill believes the women deliberately set out to destroy his return to television with malicious intent. Bill Cosby’s lawyer, Monique Pressley filed the lawsuit today in the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts claiming the seven women have made “malicious, opportunistic and false and defamatory accusations of sexual misconduct against him,” and they “knowingly published false statements and accusations.”
According to USA Today, the seven women named in the lawsuit are from Massachusetts and they banded together to file a defamation suit against Bill in federal court. When the lawsuit was first filed in December 2014, it was done by three women in Massachusetts, Traitz, Serignese, and Green. Suddenly in November 2015, the other four women joined the lawsuit. Bill filed his lawsuit against them when a Massachusetts federal judge refused to throw out their suit against him.
Bill Cosby had his lawyers file a lawsuit against Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz, Louisa Moritz, Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis, and Angela Leslie. The lawsuit accuses the women of “malicious, opportunistic, false, and defamatory” claims made against Bill of drugging them and taking sexual advantage of them.
Bill believes the women set out to destroy his character. He said their accusations have caused him to suffer from the loss of jobs, destruction of his property, shame, mortification and they damaged his reputation beyond repair. It is believed that their motive behind the lawsuit, other than ruining his reputation, is for monetary gain.
Radar Online said the court documents state, “The honorable legacy and reputation that Mr. Cosby has long cultivated…has been tarnished. Relying solely on unsubstantiated accusations, Counterclaim Defendants have engaged in a campaign to assassinate Mr. Cosby’s reputation and character by willfully, maliciously, and falsely accusing Mr. Cosby of multi-decade-old purported sexual misconduct.”
The seven women are not represented by Gloria Allred. However, Gloria did email FOX411 this response, “Bill Cosby appears to be going to war against women who have sued him in Massachusetts and who allege that he has victimized them. Although I do not represent the women in that case, I do believe that in general that such a tactic will not deter courageous women from fighting the battle against him.”
