Bertha’s Diner in Buffalo, New York has a pretty simple and basic breakfast menu, but it hits the spot for its customers. When you come in you will be greeted by a friendly hostess and your server will be happy to tell you the specials of the day. Customers highly recommend the homemade corned beef hash, which is considered Buffalo’s best. Another customer favorite is the Puzzler which is a two-egg omelet with onions, mushrooms and cheese served with strips of Canadian bacon atop a bed of mixed greens and diced tomatoes with just a splash of olive oil.

One of the best places in the Buffalo area to get a three-egg omelet, customer favorites include the spinach and feta omelet or the gyro and feta omelet. All omelets include home fries and toast. Alton’s also has a thick-sliced, hand-dipped French toast about which customers rave.

Customers rave about the French toast, made with homemade bread. The apple cinnamon walnut pancakes and pumpkin pancakes are the best in Buffalo. If you decide to go with eggs, bacon and toast, ask for the homemade jam. The coffee will keep coming, piping hot and delicious. Sophia’s also gets excellent marks for fast and friendly service.

Featured on the Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Lake Effect Diner offers breakfast all day long. Everything on the breakfast menu is delicious but perhaps the most talked about breakfast is the house-cured ham and red-eye gravy served with eggs, home fries and toast. But do not miss out on the house-smoked turkey hash, also served with eggs, home fries and toast. Pick any pancakes on the menu, but order extra maple butter, it is absolutely amazing and is more than worth it. The price tag on breakfast can be high at the Lake Effect Diner but you will never be sorry you spent the money. Even if you only go once you will talk about over and over again.

The very first Original Pancake House was opened in Portland, Oregon in 1953 and has expanded across the United States. The first Original Pancake House in Western New York is the Williamsville location. There are several specialties on the Original Pancake House breakfast menu, including their signature Apple Pancake. This is a delicious large pancake that is smothered in cinnamon sugar and sautéed apples then baked in the oven to create a perfect and sinful glaze. The other specialty at the Original Pancake House is the Dutch Baby. Do not skimp, order their coffee, which is served with real whipping cream. Bring your appetite and your wallet because this restaurant serves up big portions but they do have a price tag. Everything on the breakfast menu is worth every penny.
