January is Hot Tea Month, which means that now is the time to enjoy an afternoon tea while taking a relaxing cruise on the open water. There are several different cruise lines that offer hot tea options, including afternoon tea events. If you are a tea lover, you will want to make sure to take advantage of the different tea offerings the following cruise lines have to offer.
Enjoy the Champagne High Tea when sailing with Celebrity Cruises. This activity treats guests to the art of hospitality at its finest, while a string quartet plays in the background. During your High Tea you will be treated to Tea Forte loose teas, espresso, lattes and cappuccino. There will also be service of tea sandwiches, fresh berries, scones and pastries. Celebrity’s Champagne High Tea is available on the following ships: Celebrity Solstice Class, Celebrity Century, Celebrity Millennium, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Summit and Celebrity Constellation. There is a $25 fee to enjoy Champagne High Tea, but it is worth the additional cost.
Crystal Cruises offers an afternoon tea featuring a selection of sweets and savories that will make you feel like you have gone back in time to the 18th century. This cruise line’s Mozart Tea showcases the tradition of hosting afternoon tea with friends. You will be treated to English Colonial Tea, accompanied by scones, finger sandwiches, cakes, pastries and other assorted sweets. If you enjoy sipping on hot tea, this is an activity you must experience when sailing with Crystal Cruises.
Served daily, guests aboard Cunard ships will be treated to an afternoon tea. This tea will give guests a British experience that has been a part of some of the top ocean liners in the world. There is a charge of $26.50 for the activity, but it is worth the added cost. Your experience will include a glass of Veuve Yellow Label Brut NV or Veuve Clicquot Rose Brut, a selection of Twinings tea, a selection of gourmet sandwiches and tea cakes and the music of a harpist playing softly in the background. Afternoon tea is served from 3 p.m to 4 p.m. daily on the following ships: Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria.
Disney Cruise Line
Enjoy tea with Your Disney Friends aboard select Disney Cruise Line Ships. Your little princess will be treated to the Royal Treatment when she dines with her favorite characters, including some of the popular Disney princesses. Every guest during the tea party will receive an assortment of gifts, including a keepsake to remember their teatime experience. Space for teatime is limited, so make sure to make your reservations online before you depart for your Disney cruise. Currently the Royal Court Royal Tea is available aboard the Disney Fantasy.
Enjoy Afternoon Tea Service aboard select Holland America ships. Guests will be treated to time with friends, where they can talk and savor their time aboard their cruise. There are different types of afternoon tea activities available, including a casual tea, Royal Dutch High Tea and an Indonesian Afternoon tea. Schedules vary for each ship and sailing.
Afternoon tea is available on all P&O Cruises. For an additional charge, guests will be able to enjoy an afternoon tea in one of the finest restaurants on board. Details for all afternoon teas will be posted on board in the Horizon daily newspaper that is delivered to the cabin. There are a limited number of seats available for each tea, you will want to reserve your space as soon as you can after boarding.
