Beddit measures sleep, offers new improvements

by byte clay

Even the definition of sleep is peaceful: A condition of body and mind such as that which typically recurs for several hours every night, in which the nervous system is relatively inactive, the eyes closed, the postural muscles relaxed, and consciousness practically suspended.

Unfortunately for some, sleep isn’t that peaceful or easy. The CDC says that an estimated 50-70 million American adults have a sleep or wakefulness disorder. Sleep studies are always uncovering new disorders or a new twist on current sleep disorders in America. Now you can study your own sleep and get real data and advice with the Beddit Smart sleep tracker. There is no easier to sleep tracker to use than the Beddit. You don’t have wear anything, you don’t have to sleep a certain way and you don’t have to hook anything up to a wall or device. The Beddit really does turn your bed into a smart bed by placing the tiny Beddit sensor under your bed sheet.

The magic happens when you sync with your Apple Watch or any other iOS or Android device to get the data. And data you will get, as among the items tracked include: heart rate, body movement, sleep cycles and SleepScore. The SleepScore is delivered to you each morning, letting you know how well you slept.

Think sleep isn’t important. For years, athletes have been trying to figure out sleep. The world-renowned Australian sports scientist, Dr. Craig Duncan, put “studying sleep” into practice with the Australian National Soccer Team at the 2014 Asian Cup Championship. He monitored sleep vs. fatigue to come up with a training regime for the team. It paid off for the team and can pay off for the average American.

“We won because we were able to manage people’s fatigue much better than other teams,” explained Dr. Duncan. “You can’t improve fitness in three days. But you can heighten fatigue, and that’s catastrophic to performance and injury.”

Beddit is scary accurate and the information is tracks and gives is invaluable. What it tracks is nothing short of amazing. Everything from snoring, your resting heart rate, bed exits and actual sleep time are at your fingertips. One thing a tester liked was the “time to fall asleep” box. For many people getting in the bed isn’t the problem or issue, it’s actually the process of falling asleep that is frustrating and draining. Users can also set up a “wake up” alarm on Beddit that will wake you up when you are in a light stage of sleep or rest. Each day, after Bluetoothing your data, you will have an option to get a series of tips that are aimed at reducing stress, improving your fitness and leading a more healthy life. Beddit offers something for everyone that cares about sleep. Recent enhancements to Beddit and the Beddit app show an improved alarm clock and a history tracker that is easier on your eyes.

The Beddit Smart sleep tracker retails here for $149.99. There’s nothing to wear and it’s so easy to use, there is a good chance you will even forget it’s there right with you in your bed. It’s also available in Apple Stores worldwide, from Amazon and from other well-known retailers. Improve on your sleep with the new Beddit Smart sleep tracker and its app.
