It’s only mid-April, but things are heating up in Lake George Village this weekend. After a six-week hiatus from business to complete the lakeside bar renovations, King Neptune’s Pub on Kurosaka Lane is reopening this Friday. The kitchen will be cooking and the music will be live. Highlighting opening weekend is King Neptune’s annual beach party set for Saturday, April 16. It involves sand; flip-flops are the suggested footwear. There is no cover charge.
“We are bringing sand inside,” says Terri Allen of King Neptune’s Pub. “We will not be filing the entire bar with sand. We will keep it confined to a smaller area and use it for the Limbo Contest as well as just for fun.” The limbo contest comes with prizes. This year’s winner will walk away with tickets to the Amy Schumer show, which is coming to Albany’s Times Union Center May 5.
Neptune’s will be debuting its new summer drink menu with lots of new cocktails, according to Allen. Acoustic guitarist James Hood will provide entertainment from 5–9 p.m. Flip-n-Mickeys follows at 9 p.m. The popular entertainment venue will be launching a new Customer Loyalty Program this weekend as well.
Up on Canada Street, the Adirondack Winery is going all out, all weekend, for their 8th Anniversary “Cheer’s to the Years” celebration. While tickets to the snazzy 8th Anniversary Wine Dinner have been sold out for a couple weeks, wine aficionados and locavores (connoisseurs of locally produced foods) are welcome to the tasting room party to savor gourmet foods and wine. The Tasting Room kicks off “Cheers to the Years” with a Friday night happy hour, 5–7 p.m. James Hood will provide the entertainment. Happy hour includes a two-for-one sangria special and an $8 Slate of local gourmet foods.
On Saturday and Sunday, the winery is offering a Sweet & Savory wine tasting package for $18. The package includes eight wines paired with eight local foods. You can take home the souvenir anniversary wine glass. Attendees may enter a free raffle for these substantial prizes:
- A wine gift basket, A $50 Log Jam Restaurant gift card and overnight stay at the Lake George Country Inn and Suites
- A local gourmet food basket and membership into the Adirondack Winery’s wine club
The weekend also includes games, demos and samplings of local food products. The Winery suggests purchasing tickets online, but tickets will be available for walk-ins. For more information, visit the Adirondack Winery Website here.
