I’m not sure if this ‘baby face’ can pull it off. By that I mean his recent barrage of insults to The Donald seem to roll off Trump’s back like Teflon. Rubio does not possess the art of insult; maybe better known as the art of the deal. I believe the last almost 8 years of the present administration has caused a frenzied race to the White House in an effort to fix this mess. In doing so, the desperate, good intentioned candidates are losing it. None, but one (Dr. Ben Carson), are acting presidential. They have denigrated the American process of our elections. Each throwing insults to each other for all the world to see. One can only imagine how a citizen in Europe sitting in his chair watching his television is reacting to our nonsense. This makes the hanging chad scandal look like an honest mistake.
I am not in favor of this style of campaigning. I am sure I am not alone. It serves no purpose. It does not advance their causes. The American people need to hear substance. Attacks by candidates against policy and ideology on issues may be a critical part of campaigning, but attacking an opponent’s appearance or bodily functions is way out of line and should be embarrassing for the perpetrator. And yet the media thrives on this. The more they emphasize and focus on the negative campaigning the more the candidates throw it out.
Marco Rubio has a lot to bring to this race. His values, his lovely wife, Jeanette and family, and his policies are all worthy of the highest office. I believe his youth and intellect can bring back respect and decorum to Pennsylvania Avenue. I can almost envision a close replay of the Kennedy years. I do not believe he will bully his way or throw tantrums should he not get 100 percent of his agenda agreed upon. That does not mean Marco Rubio is without flaws.
I want to feel pride from having the presidential candidate come from our home state of Florida. We seem to grow more than oranges from our beautiful climate. We are growing candidates for the office of President of the United States and have yielded a healthy crop. Marco Rubio, Dr. Ben Carson, part timer Donald Trump, and Mike Huckerbee all reside in our wonderful state. Yet, they are not doing us proud in the public debates. It is getting close to the time for pulling the lever and casting our votes. We need to hear the candidates solutions, ideas and policies. We need to see potential leadership. We need an insight as to how they will speak to our allies and foreign leaders.
Marco Rubio was able to tell the American people with 30 second sound bites that he would reform immigration, build the wall, defund Planned Parenthood, repeal Obamacare and replace it, bring the parties together, strengthen our military, create a military strategy to defeat Isis, and bring back jobs to our country. These are the issues the American people must listen to while turning a deaf ear to the childish fighting among the candidates. This is serious stuff here people. It is almost frightening to think we will have to elect and rely on one of these men to run our country. We have no choice. The alternative would be communism. Shame on every one of those candidates should they allow their childish behavior to hand over our country to the party of communism.
We the people will have to take control and make America great again by diligently listening to our candidates and researching their words. Take the time to read their records. We the people need to heal, inspire and revive the American dream with our vote. This will be the most important vote of your life time.
