Humble Bundle has become a great way to mix a love of reading comic books with helping others. While Humble Bundle is not limited to just comic books – many independent comic publishers have teamed with the site to offer their books to anyone who wants to contribute to the campaign. It is a great way for readers to score a ton of digital reading material while supporting a good cause.
Today, March 23, 2016, and running to April 6, 2016 – Aspen Comics has teamed with Humble Bundle in support of the Hero Initiative to support comic creators who may be in need of assistance due to hard times or unexpected health concerns. The Humble Bundle which is live now features Aspen’s top titles featuring the works of Michael Turner, Siya Oum, and a wide variety of the top talents who have ever worked for Aspen. This is a great way to get caught up on all the classic Aspen titles and help a good cause.
To kick off the Aspen Humble Bundle, The Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach is hosting the official Humble Comics Bundle: Aspen Comics Comic Bug Lunch Party tonight from 5 pm to 9 pm. For everyone who contributes to the Humble Bundle campaign at the Comic Bug tonight there will be special give away bags featuring great Aspen Comics to go along with the digital versions that will be delivered via Humble Bundle.
As a special treat some of the “goodie bags” will include original artwork by Aspen’s Co-Owner and creator of “The Zoohunters” Peter Steigerwald. So anyone who contributes to the Humble Bundle at the Comic Bug tonight has a chance to walk out with some original artwork on comic book covers and the art is stellar featuring Aspen Mathews from “Michael Turner’s Fathom,” or Lola from “Siya Oum’s Lola XOXO.”
There will be food and drinks at the launch party as well as the chance to rub elbows with Aspen creators including Editor-in-Chief Vince Hernandez.
But if you can’t make it to The Comic Bug tonight you can still help out by visiting Humble Bundle and contributing to one of the three tiers. There is the “Pay What you Want” option which is exactly that. For any donation you will receive a great taste of everything Aspen does with hours of reading and gorgeous artwork to enjoy in this DRM-Free set that you can read on any format.
Contribute more than the average donation on the website and get a whole lot more for your reading pleasure including the digital omnibuses of “Michael Turner’s Fathom,” “Michael Turner’s Soulfire,” “Executive Assistant: Iris,” “Charismagic,” plus the volumes of “Jirni,” “Damsels in Excess,” and “Lola XOXO,” and more.
For fans who want to get their hands on some exclusive digital first comics they just need to contribute $15 and they will receive all of the first two tier’s books but also some never before seen in digital, and very hard to find in print, books by Michael Turner including “Michael Turner’s Ekos,” “Michael Turner’s Fathom: Swimsuit Edition,” and “Homecoming” Volume 1 written by DC Comics’ Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns.
However you choose to contribute – you not only are receiving great comic books but also helping out a worthy cause that helps comic book creators in need. So head to the Comic Bug tonight for a special event – or go directly to Humble Bundle and get started helping out this campaign.
