Style means different things to different people. To some, it’s about “who” your favorite celebrities are wearing and to others, style is the very essence of who you are. Being a trendsetter means that your influence is the source of inspiration for other people. And today, when we want inspiration, we look to some of the biggest names in Hollywood to guide us.
byteclay.com met up with the fabulous, funny and fashionable cast of the TBS comedy, “Angie Tribeca”. Created by Nancy and Steve Carrell, this punny LAPD detective show captures everything we love about classic hits such as the TV series, “Police Squad!” and the satirical laugh-out-loud comedy that started it all, “Airplane!”
The Paley Center for Media hosted the season 2 world premiere here in Beverly Hills on Thursday night, celebrating the cast and creatives of this amazing show. Rashida Jones, Hayes MacArthur, Andree Vermeulen, Jere Burns and Executive Producer Ira Ungerleider all came out in honor of the occasion to discuss the zany antics of the show in a special Q and A panel, which was moderated by Deadline’s Dominic Patten.
byteclay.com got to speak with the cast and creatives about the show before the panel to get their take on style and trends in Hollywood.
The super chic Andree Vermeulen stepped out on to the carpet first, wearing an ensemble that embodied the same fun-loving spirit that the show captures. Andree said that every look she wears represents who she is and that she loves the idea of being able to express your personality through fashion. She said the key to finding your own style is just to, “Try a lot of different things. And don’t worry about what anybody else is wearing. Find whatever you feel comfortable in and just rock it”.
Funnyman Hayes MacArthur told byteclay.com that he is all about finding comfort in fashion. As this leader in comedy expressed, he’s a big fan of Levi’s and a great pair of Converse. He admitted that he’s a bit terrified of shopping but added that when it comes to style and trends, whatever it is you love, just keep doing what you’re doing.
The dynamic Jere Burns told byteclay.com that the truest form of style comes from a sense of who you are and what you think looks good. Jere’s charming personality is a testament to one of the greatest trends in Hollywood – being authentic.
Executive Producer Ira Ungerleider, known for shows like the one and only TV favorite, “Friends”, gave thanks to his wife for picking out his look for the evening. Ira’s unique sense of style translates to the endearing characters he creates for us on-screen. When I pointed out that he has set some incredible trends in entertainment, the humble Ira remarked, “Rashida is the real trendsetter”.
The lovely Rashida Jones rocked an incredible mod dress at the event and looked absolutely divine down to the last detail. Rashida told byteclay.com that she sees her style evolving into somewhat of a quirky meets modern feel and likes the idea of being sophisticated while still trying to have some fun. This trailblazer says that when it comes to fashion, clothing is an expression of who you are, so, “Go with your gut”, she said. “Just be yourself”.
We should all take Rashida’s advice when it comes to style. Embracing who you are and being able to express that through any form of creativity, whether it’s fashion or comedy, is a trend that’s worth following.
One thing is certain, you won’t want to miss any moment of the awesome series, “Angie Tribeca”. You can get exclusive footage of this PaleyLive LA event on Hulu.
