Alyssa Milano shut down Wendy Williams after Milano made a recent visit to the host’s own show. Appearing on “The Wendy Williams” daytime talk show, Milano talked about, of all things, her breasts. More to the point, Williams asked Milano if she’s surprised that many people don’t care to see multiple pics of the actress breastfeeding her baby.
The usually dominating Williams made a surprise admission to Milano – that she too does not care for Alyssa’s multiple social media posts of her breastfeeding her kids – but she was forced to watch Alyssa rise to the occasion and deliver a shut down over the hotly debated issue. Who’s the boss now?
Writes BuzzFeed on Jan. 9: “Alyssa Milano has been a vocal advocate of breastfeeding since catching ire in October 2014 when she began posting selfies with her nursing daughter to Instagram. The star subsequently coined the hashtag, #brelfie, inspiring tons of other mothers to share their breastfeeding photos online.”
After the pair dish about Alyssa’s hair, baby weight gain, the Atkins diet and the pressure from Hollywood for new moms to get back into pre-baby shape, they get into the controversial topic – Instagram photos that Milano has posted of herself breastfeeding in public.
Williams said that many people thought it was “way too much,” and asks Milano if she was surprised by the negative reaction that many had to her photos and posts.
“I was,” Milano says. “I was surprised that I was then put in this position as being a breastfeeding advocate, which I love and I take that job with a lot of responsibility but it was kind of shocking that [people] were that opinionated about something that supposed to be incredibly natural.”
Williams, who is also a mother and who admitted to breastfeeding, then sheepishly says, “I’m opinionated,” which seems to catch Milano by surprise. Milano asks Williams what upsets her about her photos, and Williams simply says, “I don’t need to see that…. I just don’t want to.”
The 43-year-old mother of two asks Williams if she would “eat under a blanket,” and Williams said she would go and breastfeed her baby in a car, not on a “bench in front of a big box store,” and says that to her, a woman’s breasts are more sexual and “not a feeding thing.”
The two then philosophize as to if breasts are “funbags,” as Williams calls them, or if they were made for biological purposes and sexualized by society, as per Milano’s opinion.
“You have to realize that all over the world… you’re the not normal,” Milano shrugged. “You’re lucky the baby’s not here, I’d whip ‘em out and feed him right on your show.”
Adds the StarPulse: “The discussion then led to Coco Austin and how she hasn’t allowed becoming the mother of a new infant interfere with her sexuality and the way she dresses. Alyssa Milano talked about the difference in how people act whenever they see Miley Cryus’ nipples out.”
