America is a democracy built on the ability of its people to choose their leaders. We are able to express our voice through our vote. And our vote should be an opportunity for change.
Meet Allen Ellison.
Allen Ellison is a 35 year old, well-educated man on a mission to change the world around him for the people. As a Congressional candidate for Florida’s 17th District, Ellison realizes that the future is now.
“You increasingly hear the Democratic party call the 2016 election the most important election of our lifetimes. That line is a constant refrain in every election cycle. But, this time, it’s different, it’s real,” said Ellison. “This year, your vote is not just a decision between Republican versus Democrat, it’s the decision between choosing a future of disunion and intransigence – one where a megalomaniac is the ruler of the free world – versus winning the future, and reclaiming our collective sanity.”
Working to build a better future, Ellison’s campaign is aimed at combating six critical issues not only for Floridians, but for this country: disabilities, veterans Care, healthcare, women’s rights, jobs/economy, and immigration.
“All of these issues are near and dear to my heart,” said Ellison. “I am proud to fight for the residents and small business owners who operate as catalysts to our economy by continuing to face serious challenges in rebuilding communities….now more than ever, we need strong, effective leadership united to ensure prosperity and opportunity for working families in the future.”
Ellison’s focus on the future is a result of his strong past.
Born to the son of a minister and special needs instructor, Ellison is a native resident of the 17th district of Florida. He is also a graduate from Florida Southern College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a concentration in Business Administration.
Ellison dedicated his college years to understanding the inner workings of government.
“How can you be an effective leader if you don’t know the grievances of your constituents.”
He also believes his position is a true representation of the people he represents
Ellison states, “How can you lament with the thousands of hard-working families and our large aging population if you don’t know what keeps them up at night?”
“Winning the Future” is Ellison’s campaign slogan. For him, it is not just a slogan but also a mission.
“We must always be willing to speak up and speak out on issues that go unheard,” said Ellison. “I am going to keep standing and fighting for what matters: equal rights, education, safe streets, good jobs, and transparent open government.”
As the founder of the Center for Economic & Policy Development (CEPD), Inc., Ellison uses his foundation to facilitate economic growth throughout Central Florida and rural parts of the country.
“I understand that this undertaking is more than just a Congressional race. I know that it’s about the people who make this country great. It’s about knowing that we all have a responsibility to our fellow man.”
As a resident of the 17th District of Florida, you have a chance to use your vote for more than just voting for a member of Congress. You have a chance to vote for change. If you are not a resident, perhaps you should still care about Ellison’s candidacy and possible win as a representative who will help the balance of Congress as someone who truly cares about the citizens of America.
