Tonight’s season finale episode of the Discovery series of “Alaskan Bush People” was titled “Bush Heart.” All nine members of the Brown family live on remote Chichagof Island in Alaska. As the episode begins, the four oldest boys are on the Integrity for their second hauling job without their parents. The waves are rising, and the tide is not in a good mood on this day. Billy tells Noah that without communication, he fears for the lives of his boys. With Noah’s invention, he should be able to come up with some way for them to communicate.
As the guys reach their destination, Matt and Gabe bring the windows to the bridge as directed. Matt found a Bush Free-Cycle Shed and picked up a few things and dropped off some socks for the next person. Almost every bush community has one of these.
Back home, the girls found a baby bird that was likely blown out of its next during the windy night. Noah will nurse it to health, and it should be fine. However, Billy had another seizure, and it is a huge cause for concern.
At Tenakee Springs, the guys are having a problem with the 550-pound cooler, but the locals are generous and help them. Next they take the flour and sugar to the bakery and head for home. The boys are anxious to get home to see what is going on in Browntown. They had no idea that Billy is on his way to Juneau to see a doctor about his seizures. Hopefully, this time someone will be able to help him.
The calm seas give them a change to tend to their scrapes and scratches. It then turns into a competition as to who has the biggest scar. Midway through the ride home, it seems like the skiff is sinking. With several hours left before home, they cannot be without a lifeboat. They decide to lift it onto the roof of the Integrity. They are having a difficult time lifting the skiff that weighs more than the cooler.
Noah got through to the Integrity to advise the guy about Billy’s seizure and trip to the doctor. When they all are together, Billy will discuss what the doctor said. When they all arrive, they see that a bear has invaded their home again ransacking the entire place.
Billy & Ami went through the stuff to salvage what they could, but it was truly demoralizing to see everything ruined. However, Billy has more news to tell the distraught children; Billy’s seizures have caused damage to his brain, and they will have to go down south to where he can be taken care of. They do intend to return to Browntown because this is their home on “Alaskan Bush People.”
