Update: Rescued by Dawg Squad Animal Rescue!
On April 15, a young, female German shepherd was surrendered to the Downey Animal Care Center in California. Her condition is shocking – in fact, it is difficult to imagine how she fell into such a pitiful state of health in her short life.
On Friday night, a Facebook user posted photos of the young dog, whose name is “Spice.” Several photos of Spice were posted, along with words pleading for help, “Who will be her ANGEL?….Downey Animal Shelter 11258 Garfield Ave., South Gate, CA 90280”
Though Spice’s identification number does not bring up an active adoption profile, shelter staff indicated that she was still alive on Saturday morning. Her identification number, A4938978, must be referenced for rescue agencies who are interested in inquiring about pulling her to safety.
Spice needs to leave this facility – she does not appear to have known a single day of kindness in her young life. One look in her eyes reveals her pain, suffering and hopelessness.
