There are plenty of reasons to attend Shad Fest in Lambertville including great live entertainment, shad sandwiches, and an interesting shopping experience with the multitude of arts and crafts vendors and shops open for business. However, another important reason especially for animal lovers is an opportunity to meet a few animal rescue groups showcasing adoptable pets.
Animal Alliance based in Lambertville is a nonprofit animal welfare agency founded in 2001. They take in dogs and cats who have been victims of animal cruelty amongst other reasons, provide needed medical care and rehabilitation, and prepare the animals for adoption into new loving, forever homes. Not only do they have a shelter to house adoptable dogs, they operate a low cost spay/neuter program in Lambertville. Visit the Animal Alliance website for more information.
Make Peace With Animals, Inc. is based in the neighboring town of New Hope, PA. They came to Shad Fest with lovely, adoptable Greyhounds. These retired racers are an exceptionally healthy breed, and most are relatively young when their racing days are over ranging from two to four years old. With a life span of 12-14 years, they make wonderful pets when adopted into the right loving home. Visit the Make Peace With Animals website to learn more.
