Kiddie Academy of Abingdon, Maryland is having its Grand Opening ribbon cutting Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a celebration with a variety of activities and tours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event has opportunities for children and parents to learn about the programs and care available for Pre-K and school aged children through 12 years.
Age-appropriate activities and crafts will be available throughout the Academy’s classrooms, along with an appearance by Spider Man, mini soccer demonstrations, tricycle races, and even a moon bounce. Music will be provided by MIX 106.5 FM’s Reagan Warfield. “We welcome all Harford County-area residents to attend this event, which is sure to be very informative, so that they are familiar with our services and learn hands-on what we are all about,” says Kiddie Academy’s Vice President of Education, Richard Peterson, in a press release. “We want to make this a healthy and fun event for the entire family, so we’re offering guests healthy snack treats and refreshments, our popular make-your-own yogurt bar, and plenty of opportunities to get moving and stay active throughout the event.”
Kiddie Academy is a nationally networked franchise, founded in 1981 with the idea to combine learning with child care, and they made a commitment to be a leader in the industry. Their stated objective is to ensure strict standards and a consistent educational experience for children. They focus on social and emotional character education, and physical and cognitive outcomes, which are aligned with state preschool learning standards. According to Peterson, the programs emphasize continuous, open communication between teachers and parents concerning each child’s development. “Not only will those who attend our grand opening event learn about what we have to offer, they will also see how much fun it is for the children who are a part of the Kiddie Academy family,” Peterson added.
There will be plenty of dignitaries on hand for the Ribbon Cutting ceremony, which is a testament to the community nature of this facility. Kiddie Academy’s Chairman, Mike Miller along with other Kiddie Academy leadership will begin the event with an official ribbon cutting assisted by: State Senator Robert (Bob) Cassilly; Harford County Councilman Curtis Beulah, Deputy Director of the Office of Economic Development, Steve Overbay; Harford County Sherriff, Jeffrey Gahler; Abingdon Fire Chief, Rob Glassman; Harford County Chamber Director of Membership and Operations, Angela Rose; Kiddie Academy Curriculum Advisory Board Member, Dr. Beth Rogowsky; and other special guests.
