It’s getting hot in here, so “hot!” Whew, hopefully everyone has cooled down from the other day! Wow, between the intense article in the beginning to the sexually charged recipes, it is a wonder that you didn’t have to take a cool shower after reading the article!
Today, we are going to cool down a bit (What?). O.K. the recipes are on the cooler side, at least. Recipes? Yes, today there is going to be two recipes because Valentines is approaching fast and you need to be ready for the big day! The next course, in the series of “Valentines dinner” with Mango, is our salad course.
Today’s salad is going to be packed with “aphrodisiacal” qualities. Each ingredient chosen is virtually a sexual stimulant in itself. Put them all together and hold on to your hats! You are going to be experiencing more than just a “Mouthgasm”, if you know what I mean, Vern!
Fresh avocado is a silky, mild fruit has a reputation as an aphrodisiac extending back to ancient Aztec times. In fact, the Aztecs called the avocado tree “Ahuacuatl,” which translates to “testicle tree.” Then you add some fresh celery, which is a crunchy, aromatic vegetable that is also high in essential nutrients necessary for great sex, and it contains two chemicals — androsterone and adrostenol — which serve as a sexual attractant when ingested.
Next, toss in some arugula, ancient Romans used this peppery, leafy green vegetable as an aphrodisiac. Along with aphrodisiac properties, arugula promotes digestion and is a great source of vitamins A and C. Add a little arugula to your salad.
For some color and more sexual stimulants add some pomegranate seeds. The seeds of this luscious red fruit improve blood flow and are rumored to increase genital sensitivity. For a little more color and contrast of flavors and surprisingly another aphrodisiac, is watermelon! Rich in citrulline, watermelon increases nitric oxide, opening blood vessels and speeding up circulation, which may increase arousal. For a nice added touch of “crunch” to the salad and to fortify the sexual part, are pine nuts. Pine nuts are loaded with zinc, which is essential for producing testosterone. Pine nuts have reportedly provided men with sexual stamina since the Middle Ages.
Spritz a little lemon or key lime juice on, just a pinch of salt and pepper, a few grinds of cardamom. In the Arabian Nights, you can read of the use of this ancient spice as an aphrodisiac. The spice comes in pods, which you can grind for use as needed. Cardamom is warming and pungent, and can increase blood flow, which probably accounts for its aphrodisiac properties. It is also an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agent.
Here is the recipe:
- 1 to 2 avocado’s – cut in half, seed removed, cut into large chunks
- 2 to 3 slices of watermelon, cut into chunks
- 1 – bag of Arugula
- 1 – pomegranate, cut and seeded (some grocers you can buy the seeds already removed in a container)
- 2 – stalks of celery, cut into pieces, bite size
- 1/4 cup – Pine nuts
- 1 to 2 lemons or Key limes, rolled and cut into halves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cardamom – a few grinds to taste
Combine all of the above ingredients (except for the Arugula) and let marinate for a hour or so. Then place a small amount of arugula on the plate and scoop some of the rest of the salad mixture on top. Yes, get ready for your next “Mouthgasm” but hold on, there is another recipe!
Chocolate is a definite symbol of “LOVE!” Seriously, is there a soul on this earth, that does not love chocolate?! Dessert is usually served at the end of your dinner but my feeling is why wait, have it in the middle or maybe in the beginning and the end! Life is a beautiful journey, have fun and do something “off of the charts!”
O.K. back to this almost flourless chocolate cake. You can use any chocolate that you like but this recipe uses dark chocolate, it is a more “Mature” chocolate! (Mmmmmm…) Then another option is what liqueur you are going to use. Any flavor that you particularly like, use!
Chocolate in most cases is very adaptable to receiving or incorporating other flavors! People should be more like chocolate! Everyone would love you, you would be more accepting of others and just think of the results if that could happen! We would basically be living in “Heaven on earth!”
Blend together, melted in a double boiler:
- 5 oz. dark chocolate (or semi-sweet, milk)
- 6 oz. unsalted butter
- Pinch of salt
Then add to above ingredients:
- ¾ – cup Sugar
- 6 – egg yolks @ room temperature
- ¼ – cup liqueur like Kahlua, Frangelico, Amaretto, Godiva Chocolate liqueur:
Then sift into the above ingredients:
- 1/4 cup – all-purpose flour
Then fold in:
- 6 – egg whites whipped into a nice meringue
In a non-stick sprayed and wax paper lined eight-inch cake pan, gently pour in the batter. Place in a water bath and bake in a pre-heated three hundred twenty five-degree for approximately one hour ten minutes. Remove from oven and cool. Refrigerate and serve with a big cloud of “Fresh whipped Cream”, MJM chocolate sauce and/or raspberry puree’ and fresh seasonal berries.
Oieeeeee, this may be the best “Mouthgasm” of the whole evening! Heck, they were ALL good! He He He.
It is Friday and most of us made it through another week of life! Hopefully, if you were given that gift, the gift of “LIFE” that is, you are grateful for “wherever” you are in life, for you are in the “game of life” and that is a miracle in itself. Treat each moment as a gift, approach every situation with “LOVE” and be kind to everyone you pass along your journey! Life is a “shooting star” (because YOU are a STAR, my friend), embrace each moment and make it the best that you can!
Celebrate this weekend with the person you love and hopefully these recipes will get you “in the Mood” for love and make your taste-buds happy too! As far as your main course, choose something that the two of you love to eat. Each of us has different taste, so that course was left up to you to choose and create. The others were created for you to enjoy and showcase around your main course!
Until next time, SMILE, because someone is always watching! Happy Valentines and as always, create the life you love… Yours!
Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone – we find it with another. All you need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.
