On Monday the 1st of February in 2016, Baltimore Area Hospitality Association hosted an exclusive Industry Mixer at Mussel Bar & Grille in the Harbor East community of Baltimore, Maryland. It was the biggest Hospitality social of this Winter. Who knew one establishment could hold so many hospitality Concierges in one restaurant. Did you know? Baltimore Area Concierge Association (BAHA) is a one stop shop for everything concerning the largest network of Baltimore, Maryland concierges and hospitality industry affiliates whom collaborate and provide informative insight into the contemporary and forthcoming events of “Charm City.” BAHA’s main mission is to create everlasting memories for visitors to the city of Baltimore.
The celebration took place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. serving complimentary bites and happy hour priced wine and draft beer specials. The fresh wine and appetizers’ was flowing from every corner of the restaurant; the food bites range from their signature fresh salad platters, pork slides, French fries, deviled eggs and fancy flat breads. Talk about a delicious happy hour feast! Who knew? The food at Mussel Bar & Grille was so yummy. I passed that place several times and imagined they only served seafood because of name. I was in for such a surprise at Mussel Bar & Grille the food there is awesome.
The coolest part of it all was enjoying a marketing presentation from Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA) concerning Light City Baltimore, local area concierges and hospitality industry affiliates were briefed on the first large-scale, international light festival in the United States. Light City Baltimore is a huge festival classified as “spectacular visual arts installations—combining light, sound, and technology” scheduled to take in March 2016. Another interesting component of the hospitality industry mixer for that evening, was a surprise meet and greet with one of Baltimore’s 2016 Mayoral candidates, Sheila Dixon. Yep, the 2016 Baltimore mayoral election is set to be held along with the 2016 General Election on November 8, 2016. Oh, I can’t forget to tell you the owners of ‘Charm City Chocolate’ was also in attendance handing out their artisan chocolate samples to attendees of the mixer.
Did you know? The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, is a non-profit organization that produces events and arts programs for the city of Baltimore.
Talk about a very intimate learning environment for the well informed concierges and hospitality industry affiliates in Baltimore, Maryland! Guests also enjoyed the luxury of purchasing dollar raffle tickets in exchange for amazing prizes which included two complimentary VIP passes to Light City Baltimore. I really enjoyed BAHA’s “Pure Hospitality” Industry Mixer whereas, the “Who’s Who” of Charm City ‘s hospitality industry met-up for the beginning of 2016 to network and discuss the meaning of ‘Pure Hospitality.” For more information on Light City Baltimore, click here.
FYI: Bmore Art has a detailed article listed here which highlights, “Light City U Scholarship Opportunities,” keep in mind Light City U is a major event component of Light City Baltimore. Go and enjoy the light show coming this March 2016.
