Who are Donald Trump’s supporters? According to the New York Times, they are the less affluent, less educated and less likely to turn out to vote. However, this is a bit of an over generalization. Many of his supporters are affluent and very well educated. But even more than that his supporters are loyal and steadfast.
Irregardless of how his followers are viewed, they nonetheless believe in Donald Trump because of what he stands for. He is a new kind of presidential candidate. He believes in speaking his mind and telling it like it is. He admits that he is not politically correct, nor does he want to be. His political views seem to reflect those of at least two thirds of Republican voters, according to recent polls.
Voters are fed up with things like the state of the economy, Obamacare, illegal immigration, issues with ISIS and the recent deal with Iran, just to name a few, and Donald Trump is not afraid to address these issues head on. While not always clear with his exact policies regarding these issues, his followers get him and what he plans to do. One thing that can be learned from Donald Trump is you have to read between the lines with him. He gives little tidbits, if you will, about how he plans to handle each issue and his supporters understand that.
Clearly Trump’s followers have confidence and trust in him. The issues that are important to the people are also important to Trump. He knows how to connect with the voters and they love him for it.
