- Should parents lose custody of obese children
Children do not seek to eat what does not taste good and a child who is eating soap is in dire need of parental quality attention. Let’s call the kettle what it is. A child is more aware than the parent is these days. Children are not stupid but adults can be that lazy. A child in trouble is just one small symptom of the lackadaisical effort of parenting. Are we really so surprised when Mr. and Mrs. Smith leave their child in the car seat in sweltering heat only to die. It is not the child’s fault or they would climb right up out of that seat and find a way. Allowing a child to be a child is about mirroring back to them self-discipline and boundary creation. Meaning you as an adult cannot have access to everything you want just because you want it. You are the parent and they are the child for a reason, you are their to protect them to the best of your knowledge and that means keeping things out of their reach. You are the parent and not the friend. It is not cute that kids drink beer or get into your cigarettes and eat laundry pods. The child is the canary in the coalmine and if you absolutely have no clue as to how to keep your child safe you had better go an ask someone, an expert who does. You as a parent need to develop the morel and emotional intelligence it takes to take care of a child who is unable to take care of themselves for the first ten to twelve years of its life, 16-18 legally.
A fully functioning parent is doing the right thing at the right time. We do not shame our children publicly and no one is going to shame you for what accidentally happens either. But a child is as a child does and a laundry pod is the smoke to the fire.
