The cold winter months are not easy on the skin, with Spring in the air it is time to give that beauty routine a fresh start. Thanks to Emily Potts at Heron Agency for passing on the 5 best tips for a fresh beauty routine from Massage Envy.
Whether you are at home or traveling, a Massage Envy facial is a great way to freshen your beauty routine. Their licensed Estheticians can let you know which products should become part of your beauty regimen this season and which you should toss. They can also offer tips on how to use the products and approximately how long the products will last.
Here are the 5 best tips for a fresh face beauty routine this season from Massage Envy:
Put down the harsh exfoliate
Many people think scrubbing away the winter dryness works, but it’s doing more harm than good. Instead, reach for a mild exfoliate to avoid red and irritated skin. Products containing salicylic acid, lactic acid, and glycolic acid will help dissolve those dead skin cells.
Ditch heavy oily lotions
Start using a lightweight oil-free moisturizer to avoid clogged pores. Moisturizers with plant oils, mineral oils, shea butter, and cocoa butter are best.
Cleanse the right way
Start by applying a dime-size amount on fingertips. Add water and rub the product between fingertips before touching face. Apply cleanser to face while moving fingertips in a circular, upward motion. For a deep clean, wash face twice.
Apply eye cream in the right direction
Begin by placing a pea-sized amount of eye cream on ring finger. Start from beneath the outer corner of eye and apply cream in a gentle swooping motion along the orbital bone towards the inner corner of eye.
Don’t forget the SPF
As you start spending more time outdoors, your skin will be exposed to more of the sun’s harmful UVA/UVB rays. While we’re sure you’re excited to work on getting some color back into your skin, make sure you’re staying safe. Protect yourself from the sun’s harmful rays with a moisturizer that contains SPF 15 or higher.
