“48 Hours” is an investigative program that covers crime & murder in the United States. Last night’s episode was reported & narrated by Richard Scheslinger.
“Target Justice” opened with Kaufman, Texas that has a population of only 6,922. Gunshots were heard from inside law offices. District attorney Mark Hasse was walking into his office when a male dressed in black tussled with him at 8 a.m. Mark was then shot and killed. The offices went into lock down and police speculated that it was either a gang or white supremacist’s.
Kaufman city was the quietest town until the year of 2013. Criminal district attorney Mike Mclelland brought in special prosecutors because he was a close friend of Mark. State and federal officer’s descended upon Kaufman to search for a killer. That killer jumped into a black car with no license plate and drove off. Investigators say that the murder might be revenge against Mark who was a tough prosecutor. He sent murderer’s and drug dealers to prison.
Police couldn’t find the killer of Mark after weeks of investigating. They thought that the killer might get away with it. Then, Mike and his wife Cynthia Mclelland were gunned down inside their home. It was two months after Mark was killed. Prosecuting attorney’s had become exact targets.
