Get ready to mark your calendars for some authentic Florida food fun. Seafood festivals are all over Florida in 2016 many being a yearly events. Here are a few for you think about.
February 27th pack up the car for a trip to the Port Canaveral Seafood festival. This event is completely family friendly and is located at Exploration Tower. The festival features authentic local seafood made from local chefs. $12 will get you a ticket.
March has a couple of fun events close to Jacksonville. March 4-6th is a weekend of fun at the St.Augustine Lions Seafood Festival. There will be good food and live music on Castillo Drive for just $5 an adult. The 19th brings the Great Atlantic Country Music Fest at Jacksonville Beach. This is the 27th anniversary for this event. Get ready for some boots and bikinis , music, food and brews.
May 1-3 it is time for the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival in Fernandina Beach. This festival has it all including a pirate parade, a shrimp boat sunset concert and great food. All events during the weekend are Free. May 22-25 is the Blue crab festival in Palatka. This is a Memorial Day weekend festival and the cost is $10 per person. There will be live entertainment all weekend, a parade and a seafood cook off , fireworks will be on Saturday evening.
In November plan a trip to the Sponge Docks of Tarpon Springs. The 11-13th crafts, and local cuisine food, plus stroll around the Greek village.
