Every time they turn on the microphone or stand in front of a camera to capture the best interviews with the hottest stars they bring their A-game. Each of these media professionals possess the skills, determination and know-how to become a star in their respective industries. They have either entertained their listeners or viewers in multiple markets via internet or traditional television or even both. They are definitely one to watch, so without further hold up here is the list of nominees:
Often called “The Oprah of the South”, Pam Chatman is a larger than life personality in her job. She is a woman who has kicked down doors and broken glass ceilings to do what she loves and that is Empowering Women. She is a Diva by trade and a Boss Lady by defintion. When she speaks she commands attention. The world now knows that after her debut in TruTV reality show BREAKING GREENVILLE. Raised in the Mississippi Delta city of Shaw in Bolivar County, Pam never forgets her roots and the things that have driven her to do what she has done so far in her life.
She is the CEO/Founder of P. Chatman Mentoring, Consultant and Training Organization, which fosters teaching to women and young girls to love themselves first. She uses past family secrets and school experiences of low self-esteem to empower women so they, too, can heal. Through her powerful and strong voice she has traveled all over the south speaking to encourage women to never give up on their Dreams. Pam is known through-out the south to help women move their mountains in their lifes that have tried to hold them back from healing and walking into their Destiny.
Pam is currently News Director for WABG(ABC) and WNBD(NBC) in Greenville. It was through this position that she “starred” in the BREAKING GREENVILLE reality show. And this position has also earned her recognition as the first female, African-American news director in the state of Mississippi. And there is even a stretch of Highway near Shaw named in her honor. And with the recent national exposure on BREAKING GREENVILLE, Pam has also appeared on “The Today Show”, “The Talk” and “MSNBC Notebook” while also written about in TV Guide, TV Newscheck, Delta Business Journal, Mahogany Magazine, InStep magazine, Elissa Magazine, AMAZE Magazine, Mississippi Link, The Tri-State Defender and have been interviewed on several Radio Shows.
Beyond the public speaking and inspirational programs, Chatman has shared her life experiences into the written word, too. She has authored a book titled I MADE IT THROUGH THE STORM””, which is a testament to women who have weatherered personal storms in their lives and come out on top. And soon she will debut a new play titled “LORD SHOW ME HOW TO HEAL MY SCARS” focusing on encouraging women to dig deeper to start their healing process. Pam has started her own cosmetic and spa line called “Boss Lady P Chatman” which consists of a complete cosmetic line (makeup, nail care, skincare), spa line and a cocktail mix drink line. She is a graduate of Rust College in Holly Springs, MS and also a member of the highly-esteemed Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc; The National Council of Negro Women and the Juvenile Job Corporation Board. Chatman has spent countless hours working with Mississippi women and young people and those efforts have not gone unnoticed.
She is now recognized by the U.S. Congress and placed in the Congressional Record for her contributions in her career and her community. Add to that recognition, her placement in the Top 50 Black Women on the Move, Top 50 Women in Bussiness and the Seed of Africa Award for outstanding African American Women Making A Difference. She has even spoken at an “Oprah Winfrey Family Reunion.” So in short, Chatman has been an inspiration to many of her peers as well as young people who need guidance and encouragement to move beyond their fears and tears to a place of honor and commitment they can be proud of.
Vincent “Heartbreak” Tucker is an entrepreneur, humanitarian and multi-faceted entertainer – promoter, event host/MC and Syndicated Radio Personality.
Touting a very heartwarming and inspirational real-life story, the “next American Feel Good Story in the making,” is a unique role model for at-risk youth everywhere. He survived a deadly house fire that claimed the lives of three (his grandparents & 7-year-old sister), premature deaths of childhood friends, dealing with his parents’ drug abuse, surviving their abandoning of him at the age of thirteen and more. Determined not to fall into the traps of his surroundings, Vincent used the dark moments of his life to fuel his rise to the top of the music & entertainment industry.
He is the founder of CWC Entertainment Group L.L.C., Online Editor for DallasBlack.com and member of the board for The North Texas Fresh, a semi-professional men’s basketball organization in the Universal Basketball League. Tucker is also the creator and founder of Register to Speak Out!™, a non-partisan voter registration initiative and the co-director of My Brother’s Keeper: Feed the Homeless Drive. In 2014, Vincent became a Brand Ambassador for Footaction USA.
Launched in December 2007, Vincent “Heartbreak” Tucker is the Host & Executive Producer of the syndicated broadcast The Vincent Tucker Radio Show, which airs LIVE every Weekend. The award-winning broadcast has been endorsed by executives at Clear Channel Satellite and CBS Radio Group and continues to be a hit among the 18 to 34 urban contemporary demographic.
Tera Baggett (best known by surname Lady T) is an online radio host, writer and activist. As a Texas native, Tera attended Desoto High School and graduated with a B.S. in Mass Communications from Texas Woman’s University in 2005. Desiring to follow her dream of being the next Wendy Williams, Tera received certification in Radio Broadcast and Digital Production from American Broadcasting School in 2011.
Tera is currently host two bi-weekly radio shows at TMi Media Network; The Tera La’Shun Experience, which focuses on relationships and dating and Immense Gospel featuring current gospel artists and poets, and broadcasts a weekly relationship video blog via social media Spill the T. Tera also serves as a voice-over artist in many featured advertisements for the station.
Tera previously worked as a contributing writer for Black Economic Times, Greater Dallas Christian Life, The Dallas Examiner, Elite News, The Dallas Weekly and Power Pages Magazine and hosted a weekly on-air segment for The Valder Beebe Show.
Tera is an active member of We Are Survivors, an organization against Domestic and Sexual abuse, and a lead activist for The Texas State Employees Union.
Vanna Collins is the host of “The Vanna Collins Show” which spotlights trendy events of fashion, art, music, lifestyle and more. The uniqueness of her talent as a model and entrepreneur has made her one of the most-recognized professionals in the Dallas metroplex.
Prior to “The Vanna Collins Show” Vanna was a co host on TDSL airing on Time Warner Cable, Texas Channel.
Born and raised in Dallas, TX she developed a love for music and culture through her parents. As a young child she would often travel to New Orleans, the city her mom was born and raised. There she would take part in visiting museums and Mardi Gras. Her dad would always encourage her to push the boundaries of her interests.
