Like anything these days, the travel industry is constantly growing and changing, including the trends that are speaking to today’s travelers. One of the fastest growing trends is Adventure Travel, and there is a wide swath to cover within it, whether folks are choosing to visit exotic locales, travel solo across the U.S., cruise to the Antarctic Circle, embark upon an African safari, and more.
And you might not think about eating as an adventure, but travelers are extending their culinary boundaries as well in search of food-centric escapades. Supporting this trend is a survey conducted last year by the Adventure Travel Trade Association in which they found that 71 percent of adventure travel itineraries now have an experiential food focus, and that tourists are increasingly identifying local food and food experiences as their primary and secondary motivations for choosing specific destinations, among other findings.
These insights were garnered through the responses of the association’s extensive database of tour operators, activity providers, and travel agents that revealed this new trend in adventure travel. To that end, following are a list of 10 delicious Adventure Foodie Tours they shared to whet your appetite and leave you hungry (pardon the pun!) for more!
